Camie Huntley

She has 19 years experience and earned double bachelors degrees from LCSC in Early Childhood Development and Business Management.

I grew up in Grangeville Idaho where my family are 3rd and now 4th generation well drillers. I am a single parent to 3 amazing children, Brayden, Roxy and Ryllan.  I have 2 horses, 2 dogs and 1 cat.  I enjoy the outdoors, going on adventures, myr horses and most of all my preschool program here. I chose to teach young children 19 years ago when my oldest son was diagnosed with autism. I struggled to find a childcare center that was patient and knowledgeable enough to care for him. I went to college to educate myself on how best to care for and teach children like him and now enjoy sharing that knowledge and skills by providing a quality center and also teaching here. 

What I enjoy most about our center is our magical and nurturing environment our families and staff create. We have low class sizes so classrooms are relaxed and I can spend more quality time with each of my students. We have amazing supportive and educated teachers that are truly passionate about teaching and caring for children and it really makes all the difference.

Why It All Started

 Sandcastle Kids was established in 2011. Our director and owner Camie Huntley sought to create a better way to provide childcare that was not focused on money and large class sizes. Sandcastle is focused on hands-on opportunities for children to learn and grow. We offer a charming and cozy childcare opportunity for your family with our small and limited group settings. We pride ourselves in creating a place where families and early childhood educators feel like friends and family. Children are not just a number here. Families come to our center to be cherished, respected, and loved.

What Sets Us Apart From Others

We believe that most of life’s learning including how to learn- occurs in the first five years of life. Since each child learns at his/her own pace, our staff will look to each child to determine the next stage of development. This “can do” approach is the basis of our philosophy for the center. This “can do” viewpoint allows our little ones to grow to become confident and enjoy success in an atmosphere of respect, warmth, and love.

At our center, you will find teachers who are trained in early childhood development, who value, respect, and sensitively respond to the unique needs that each child holds.
